Sugar Bay Barbados

The Sugar Bay Barbados is located in Hastings, facing one of the beautiful Caribbean beaches of the area and set amidst 5 acres of lush tropical gardens, it provides a wonderful spot to spend a relaxing and memorable holiday. Nearby you will find there is also plenty to see and do including attractions like Queen's Park, the Garrison Savannah, the Barbados Museum and Historical Society and is also just 10 minutes from the capital of Bridgetown.

This stunning environmentally friendly 3-star hotel resort has created an offshore aquarium in an artificial reef and overlooks the most important turtle nesting site in the Eastern Caribbean for the endangered Hawksbill species, and promises a truly memorable experience with its 150 guest rooms and suites and a wonderful selection of facilities all cleverly spread throughout the grounds, enabling everyone to find their own corner to enjoy family time or time alone. There are also some great ways to relax and unwind during your stay with spa facilities including massage/beauty treatments and a spa tub at the conveniently located Chattel Plaza in the resort, which also includes a gym as well as restaurants, bars and an arcade. In addition to the leisure facilities there is also a wide range of activities and sports to try with outdoor pool tables, table tennis, darts and new features at the hotel including weekly rum tastings and mixology classes, cooking demonstrations and visiting artisans and musicians during the key festivals on the island. Families can also make use of the self-catering facilities in many of the rooms and use the use the convenient in-resort mini-mart, or alternatively visit one of the several restaurants at the resort.

Not just for leisure however, this hotel can also cater equally well for special events or business purposes with its Sea Shell Conference Centre that can accommodate up to 200 guests, which can be divided into 3 separate rooms and there are also two smaller breakout rooms ideal for meetings.

Even more great services at this hotel include free onsite parking, wireless internet provided in the public areas, a business centre and a 24-hour desk that can help with any request you might have as well as providing useful services such as laundry facilities, currency exchange and child services.

The hotel is in the historic Garrison area, the site of the islands only horse racing track. Nearby, guests will find shops, bars, restaurants, hairdressers, supermarkets, banks and a post office. The hotel also part owns the 18-hole Barbados Golf Club, a 15 minute drive away. Among the hotels varied facilities is the opportunity to enjoy virtual golf where you can play a round at many of the worlds most famous courses in air conditioned comfort, non motorised watersports and diving with wrecks and reefs to explore. Guests receive discounts at Chattel Plaza as well as preferred tee-off times and 15 discount on green fees at Barbados Golf Club.

Rooms at Sugar Bay Barbados are generous in size and decorated in classic tropical colours to give you that true Bajan feel. Views are either out over the beach or onto the thick foliage and amazing flowers of the beautifully groomed gardens. 12 of our rooms are specifically designed to allow wheelchair users easy access and since the resort is mostly on one level ALL our guests can enjoy full access to all facilities.

All of the 150 guest rooms and suites include all the modern amenities you need to ensure a comfortable stay, with air conditioning wireless internet (free in deluxe rooms or better) cable TV fridge coffee/tea maker clock/radio safe rollaway beds blackout curtains/drapes hair dryer kitchenette (in some rooms).
There is a 1 US Dollar per room per night tourism fund charge that will be collected locally.

The hotel has a no smoking policy which is All restaurants, pools and pool decks, dining rooms and offices are designated as no smoking. Smoking permitted at the bars, on the beach and in the gardens and grounds.

Eating and Drinking
The hotel's 39 Steps Restaurant and Wine Bar is open for dinner and sometimes lunch, The Almond Tree Restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner for international and Caribbean cuisine, the Turtle Nest Beach Bar is on the eastern beachfront side of the hotel and offers tropical drinks or a light grilled lunch, the coffee shop offers a variety of hot and cold drinks, smoothies, sandwiches, paninis, bagels, cakes etc and finally the 19-hole cafe in the virtual golf area with drinks and snacks available. The hotel operates an All Inclusive option which includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner in the Almond Tree Restaurant and the Turtle Nest Beach Bar. Beverages and house brand liquor and wine is available by the glass
